Being a business owner, I know how important my clients are. Without my clients I would not have an income, therefor I would not have a business. Once you help a client once they are more likely to come back to you for more services they need help with in the future.
It is so important to take time to build a long lasting relationship with your clients. Creating lifetime clients will make you more money, but also you will not have to seek out so many one time clients.
Creating quality service is definitely your first step in developing your client relationship. If your service is anything less than great, your clients will not see a reason to come back for service again. However, if you give them something beyond their expectations, they will want to try out more of what you offer.
The next step in relationship building is providing good customer service. When a client contacts you, especially if it is with a problem, it is important to respond back in a timely manner. If your client contacts you, they are not thinking about all the other people who are requesting your attention. They are only thinking about the reason that they contacted you, and they want you to give them your full attention.
Staying in regular contact with your clients will ensure that they remember you and the service you provide. People get busy and have a lot of things on their plate. They may have intended to hire you for additional services, but it just slipped their mind. You may want to send out a monthly newsletter to keep them updated on new services or any specials you are offering.
Creating life long customers does not happen overnight. It is something that you will need to work on. As long as you show your clients appreciation and respect, you are well on your way to creating life long relationships with your clients.
